OUR COMPANY

The company COSTAS CHRISTODOULOU LTD is a family business, which was founded by Costas Christodoulou in 1904 and operated in the form of a partnership until 2006, when it was transformed into a limited liability company. Today it is owned and managed by the third and fourth generations.

The company is active in 4 departments of the Cyprus economy, namely:

CROPCARE DEPARTMENT

Τhe company deals with the import and distribution of plant protection products, plant nutrition products and other agricultural equipment and consumables. The company owns 4 agricultural shops in Nicosia, Limassol, Xylophagou and Kiti. Through these stores, in addition to agricultural supplies, the company trades public health products, garden items, sprinklers, irrigation products, personal protective equipment, seeds, DIY products, washing equipment, pool chemicals and other related products.

HEALTHCARE DEPARTMENT

Τhe company deals primarily with the import, distribution, installation and provision of technical support for medical imaging equipment (CR, DR, x-ray film printers, ultrasounds), and Health IT systems. Τhe company also imports and distributes medical consumables, for instance x-ray films, surgical and examination gloves, gauze swabs, syringes and other.

GRAPHIC ARTS DEPARTMENT

Τhe company deals with the import and distribution of pre-press and press graphic arts equipment and consumables and provision of technical support.

INDUSTRIAL RAW MATERIALS DEPARTMENT

The company acts as Agent and Distributor of Industrial Raw Materials Manufacturers, primarily for the paint, plastic, polyurethane foam and water treatment industries.

HISTORY

1904

Costas Christodoulou (1878-1972) founded the company Costas Christodoulou in 1904. In the same year the cooperation with Bayer started by importing colours for dyeing textiles and fabrics for the traditional Cypriot costumes.

1936

The company sold cooperative sold embroidery and Cypriot textiles supplied by weavers from various villages. As a pioneer in the profession, Costas Christodoulou took part in exhibitions in Athens and Thessaloniki. He then created his own dyehouse, which operated from 1936 to 1972.

1940

The co-operation with Bayer was expanded and by the end of 1940s gradual representation of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and other Bayer products was achieved.

1944

In 1944, Costas Christodoulou’s son-in-law, Michalakis Kythreotis, became his partner, who in 1950, secured the representation of Agfa Germany in photographic products.

1960

Following the establishment of the Republic of Cyprus in 1960, the import of industrial raw materials began.

1967

In 1967 the partnership started the cooperation with AGFA Belgium in the fields of graphic arts, radiology consumables and equipment.

1972

In 1972 Costakis Kythreotis became a partner in the cooperative and in 1994 Soulla Kythreotou.

2000

In 2000 the dealership of Cheminova A / S (plant protection products) was secured, which was later acquired by FMC.

2004

In 2004 the company celebrated its 100 years anniversary of continuous business.

2006

On 31.12.2006 the partnership was transformed into a limited liability company under the name Costas Christodoulou Ltd.

2010

Michalis and Antonis Kythreotis (4th generation) joined in the family business in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

2011

Since 2011 the company is constantly expanding in the medical sector by adding to its range healthcare IT systems, medical imaging equipment and various medical consumables.

2014

Since 2014, the company expands the products it offers to its customers in the agricultural sector, by introducing fertilizers, biological plant protection products, seeds and other agricultural products, thus strengthening its presence in the agricultural market.

2018

In 2018 the company began to introduce new consumables in the field of graphic arts, therefore offering more solutions to its customers.

2021

Throughout its long history, the company has worked and continues to work with many other companies.
